Back to School Fair

Today was the Back To School Fair at the Nugget Mall.  I'd like to report that it was a super busy day, but we had a lot of competition -- the Salmon Derby!  Plus it rained cats and dogs all day, a good reason to stay home!

But Lions Mike N. and Allen still put in a full day at the fair, inviting all parents with children to take a few seconds to stop and have their child's eyes tested.  It never ceases to amaze me how many parents aren't willing to take us up on our free offer....  

But we screened 18 children and had 2 referrals so that's pretty good.  The best part of the day was when an older lady from another booth stopped by to tell us that her granddaughter had her eyes tested by Lions here in Juneau (us!) and was a "refer."  Upon going to the eye doctors was found to indeed have a lazy eye.  

This is why we do what we do.
